Welcome to www.PJLTech.com, web presence of Lawrence Technologies

Introduction

The L6B sports car is the latest creation of Peter J. Lawrence, founder of Lawrence Technologies. The L6B is a two-seat, mid-engine, high-performance sports car which resembles a GTP car in appearance (as raced at LeMans). It can be configured and equipped for use either on the street or for racing, or both. It is specifically designed to be sold in kit form and assembled by the purchaser or a designated constructor.

What's New on www.pjltech.com?

All pages on this site were updated on Sept. 23 and cleaned up the ensuing minor errors on Sept. 24, 2006. If you have not visited in a while, there are a lot of changes. The most significant web changes are: Current Status, addition of the brand new Kit Stages page which provides details of each stage of the kit, a re-write of the article on the Integrated Electrical System accounting for some important changes in our design which you are going to love - a must read, and many new photos in the Photo Gallery.

L6B serial #002, just prior to adding steering wheel (i.e. almost completed Stage 7).

General Information

The L6B is aimed specifically at the automotive enthusiast who wants a car with the uncompromised performance normally found only in a true racing car and who enjoys building things. The car is designed around a tubular steel spaceframe chassis and a non-structural fibreglass reinforced plastic body. Major mechanical components (such as the 5-speed transaxle, halfshafts, constant velocity joints and wheel hubs) are all late model Porsche. The recommended engine is essentially a fuel injected 350 cid Chevrolet V8, built from aftermarket components. For street use, the recommended engine produces approximately 440 HP. For racing applications, the power can be increased substantially.

Serial number 001 is scheduled for performance testing in the spring of 2007. Prices should be finalized by then also. For more information contact info. For comments on the web page contact the webmaster.

A note regarding this web site: this is a design-oriented web site posted in response to the many people who have been following the L6B development. The site is updated irregularly because our highest priority is getting the product done! This is not intended to be a marketing pitch or to solicit sales. However, if this project does catch your interest, we do have a significant number of people who have asked to be on the waiting list to purchase an L6B kit. If you would like to add your name to the list we would be pleased to discuss that with you. For now, enjoy our site and dream of owning your own world-class high performance sportscar.

A note on the name: This is the 6th vehicle design by Pete Lawrence, hence the L6. The chassis details were simplified to facilitate more efficient production and weight reduction, hence revision B. We've been using the L6B moniker for so long that it stuck. It could very well remain the same as we begin to market the vehicle and abandon our unannounced marketing name.
